NextGen Manufacturing Summit Africa 2025 – Africa at the Era of Industry 4.0

Co-organized by AISMA–UNIDO, UM6P, Technix, Hannover Messe and Deutsche Messe AG, the NextGen Manufacturing Summit Africa 2025, held from 30 September to 1 October at the UM6P Campus in Benguerir, Morocco, brought together leaders and experts for inspiring panels, an engaging Tech Village, and industrial site visits showcasing digital transformation in action.
Among the key highlights was Panel 2: “The Role of Smart Factory Hubs”, which emphasized the strategic importance of these hubs as drivers of Africa’s digital transformation. Mr. Rafik Feki, UNIDO Representative to Senegal and AISMA Founding Expert, together with Prof. Dr.-Ing. Mbang Sama, Founding Expert of AISMA and the Digital Transformation Alliance (DTA), underlined their critical role in supporting SMEs, fostering innovation, and strengthening regional capacities for inclusive and sustainable industrial growth.
On the sidelines of the Summit, participants visited a series of industrial companies in Morocco, reflecting the vitality of the local manufacturing ecosystem. A Tech Village was also set up on the UM6P campus to showcase concrete solutions for smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0, while AISMA held a coordination meeting with its founding experts and partners to reinforce the implementation of its six pillars of action toward an innovative and sustainable African industry.
