Call for Expression of Interest: Qualifying African experts to become certified SIRI assessors

The Alliance for I4.0 and Smart Manufacturing in Africa (AISMA), supported by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and in partnership with the International Centre for Industrial Transformation (INCIT), is launching a call for expression of interest to select a pilot number of experts operating in the field of industry 4.0 and its applications to benefit from a training on SIRI. to become certified assessors.

The Certified SIRI Assessor Programme was established to formally recognize independent and neutral individuals who are able to professionally assess a manufacturing facility using SIRI and its accompanying frameworks and tools. The Official SIRI Assessment includes the evaluation of a manufacturing facility across the 16 dimensions of assessment, the identification of recommended areas of priority, and the provision of a report of the findings.

The selected beneficiaries will be supported cost free. The aim of this initiative is to build local capacity in digital transformation and smart manufacturing. By equipping experts with internationally recognized skills, this initiative will enable African industries to adopt advanced technologies, improve productivity, and create more competitive and sustainable manufacturing ecosystems. This pilot phase will also help establish a foundation for scaling up industry 4.0 practices across the continent.

What’s in it for you?
The selected experts will enjoy the following for no cost: 

  • An online training on SIRI insured by an expert designated by the International Centre for Industrial Transformation (INCIT). 
  • A certification to become a SIRI assessor for those who pass the exam

 

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, the applicant should be based in Africa and possess either:

  • Academic qualifications: Relevant Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics
  • professional qualifications in Manufacturing industry; Industry 4.0 technologies; and experience in transformation change management.
